Mulberry leaf lowers blood sugar

It can be achieved in two ways:

1, through the inhibition of the activity of disaccharide decomposition enzyme by the alkaloid DNJ (1-deoxyrishimycin), which inhibits the absorption of disaccharide by the small intestine and reduces the peak value of postprandial blood glucose (Kimura, 1995);

2, it can promote the secretion of insulin in the islet cells through the mulberry leaf alkaloid fagomine and mulberry leaf polysaccharide, and insulin can promote the use of sugar, the synthesis of liver glycogen and the improvement of sugar metabolism, and finally achieve the effect of lowering blood glucose.
