Harvesting and   Collection:

Collected in winter. Dug out. Wash and remove hair root, slicing, and   dried.

Quality:

To the body dry, color white, with   aroma, without impurities and mildew for qualified, especially in the color   white, strong smell is preferred.

Nature, Taste and   Meridian attribution:

Acrid in taste,   warm in nature. The stomach meridians in attribution.

Functions:

Promoting the circulation of qi, warming the middle, helping digestion, relieving   pain. For treatment heart and abdomen crymodynia, indigestion, traumatic   injury, toothache.

Usage and Dosage:

Internal: decoct soup, 6 ~ 10g. Or used to pills or powder.

External use: right amount, to grind into powder application, or apply crushed.

Precaution:

Yin deficiency anaemia and stomach with depressive fire is   forbidden.

Activating ingredients:  

Kaempferiae rhizome contains volatile oil, main components are ethyl-p-methoxycinnamate,   ethylcinnamate, ethylcinnamate, borneol, camphene, 3-carene, p-methoxystyrene,   α-thujene, α-β- pinene, benzaldehyde, sabinene, α,β- phellandrene, ρ-cymene, limonene, 1,8-cineole, terpin-4-ol,α-terpineol, eucarvone, anisaldehyde, bornylacetate,   thymol,α-terpinylacetate,β-elemene,δ-selinene, pentadecane,γ-cadinene, hexadecane, heptadecane, 3-(4-methyoxyphenyl)-2-methyl-2-acrylicacid],   5-phenylthiazole,  [3-methylene-6-(1-methylethyl)-cyclohexene],   isoborneol, 2,5,6-trimethyldecane,[1a,2,3,4,4a,5,6,7b-octahydro-1,1,4,7-tetramethyl-1H-cycloprop[e]azulene],   9,12-octadecadienal. Also contains flavonoid constituent: kaempferol, kaempferide   and vitamin P.

Farm Information:

Reputed to smell of roses and taste of spice, they are widely used   throughout Asia and other countries in the world in curries as spices, and   also as an herbal remedy. May also be taken as a tea, extract or capsule.
